The situation with the shelter for animals «Mercy» in Bryuhovychi /L’viv district/ is really shocking. About 250 dogs are held there. All responsibility for animals’ usual care /meat, cleaning cages, etc./ rests on the shoulders of one brave employee and the fragile shoulders of two women. Sometimes, volunteers come to help. It should be mentioned that there are only three such like institutions in our country - in Kiev, Odessa and L’viv. The purpose of their existence is an alternative to various utilities which lulled to sleep animals. Sometimes the staff of “Mercy” has to tear the animals out of the skinflint’s hands, to take them to the veterinarian, to treat, to sterilize, etc. It is incredible that in our times /not in L’viv, thanks God/ it happens that the animals are shooted off , sometimes it happens in front of children.
Art Group «Esmark’s Cup» decided to respond to the problem between people and our smaller brethrens with the social blitz-project «Real Animals». The project involves four members of the Group - Oleg Suslenko, Ruslan Tremba /Foundation for Contemporary Sacred Art “Symbolum Sacrum”/, Ivan Nebesnyk, Victor Melnychuk /Gallery “Tseh”/ . We will /in turn/ within 6 weeks anatomize painful abscess problems of homeless animals. The main thing - is to draw the attention to this social phenomenon. Nowadays, the shelter is the only opportunity to solve the problem of waif animals in a civilized way.
