It doesn’t matter for fat loss! When I say it doesn’t matter, I mean it doesn’t matter as much as the bigger picture. Especially when people say things like “Fasted cardio makes you burn your fat better” Let’s imagine you’re comparing one person doing cardio fasted, and the other person did cardio after they’ve eaten food. if they both have the same net caloric deficit, they lose the same amount of body fat. This has been tested many times, and yet bodybuilder still believe there’s something to it. Probably just that it’s easier to wake up and get it over and done with! And the intermittent fasting crowd “ I’m fasting all morning so I’m running off my store body fat better” Again, we will compare two different people. One person doesn’t eat all morning until say 12 PM and finishes eating at 8 PM The other person started eating at 8 AM and finished eating at 10 PM If they both have the same net caloric deficit, they both lose the same amount of body fat. Now, if you were to add cardio, and you weren’t used to doing cardio, it would help you burn more calories. So yes, it would help you burn more body fat. Also, if you find not eating breakfast in the morning, allows, you to eat less throughout the day, intermittent fasting can help you! But neither of these things are magic beyond how they instill the calorie deficit. So I don’t think you’re missing anything just because other people have a religious following on some of these ideas. If you were to simply - get 8 to 10 K steps per day - Have a 500 cal deficit - Eat near your body weight protein - Strength train 3 to 4 days a week You will have great fat loss without using any of the other tricks. Keep it simple because it’s hard enough!
