Once you realize that you are in full control of your health, there’s no more pointing fingers. Your boss, your job, your spouse, your friends.. all of them can influence you, but none of them are responsible for your choices. Take radical responsibility, and you put yourself in a position of power. In this position of power is where you can create change. 2️⃣ Learning from Your Failures - Does “I’ll just try harder next time” feel familiar? Failures and shortcomings are going to happen. You’re going to miss workouts, eat things you probably shouldn’t, and fall short in certain areas. But instead of just moving on to avoid the guilt or shame, taking the time to process what happened and strategize how you can keep it from happening again is a major skill that most people miss. So are you learning from your failures? Or are you repeating them over and over? Remember, Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. So ‘trying harder’ next time isn’t a viable strategy. 3️⃣ Positive Self Talk - Stop talking trash to yourself! On this journey you can either be your biggest critic or your biggest motivator. One is going to leave you frustrated and feeling helpless, and one is going to empower you to continue making better decisions. Changing that internal dialogue when you win, when you lose, or anywhere in between is crucial to making the best decisions.
