GLP1 Drugs - The Challenge of Using Them for Weight Loss 💊⚖️ GLP1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro have gained massive popularity as weight loss solutions, but are they really the magic fix? 🤔 In this video, we dive deep into the challenges and potential downsides of using these medications for weight loss. While they can help regulate blood sugar and curb appetite, there are important factors to consider—including side effects, sustainability, and muscle loss risks. 🚨 Should you rely on GLP1 drugs for long-term weight management? Or are there better, more sustainable lifestyle changes that can help you achieve lasting results? 💪🥗 We'll explore the science, share expert insights, and discuss the best strategies for maintaining a healthy weight without depending solely on medication. ✅ Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more health and wellness insights! Hit the 🔔 to stay updated on our latest videos. Let's navigate this journey to better health together! 💚✨ MC shares in this episode that nearly 60% of individuals prescribed a GLP1 drug don't take the drug or end up discontinuing it. A great of this depends on how you work with your doctor or how the medication is provided by your insurer. It can be quite challenging when you take your prescription to the drugstore, and they tell you the co-pay is $300-400 a month. Is that sustainable for many of us? No!! Why does this drug, which can be a life changer, cost so much for weight loss, and the co-pay is so low for those individuals who are taking it for diabetes, pre-diabetes, or other approved illnesses. We must advocate for ourselves, adolescents, and others who are suffering from weight or obesity and not getting support or guidance from their healthcare providers. More education needs to happen. Each individual needs to know that sometimes starting out needs to be slow, and there may be minimal results, plus adverse events like nausea and vomiting. Still, if you are persistent and stay on the lower dose, these side effects can be helped with medications or smaller portions or by paying attention to the foods that may trigger these symptoms. MC shares in this episode that, yes, she began on tirzepatide on the lowest dose and stayed on the lowest drug for close to six months. The longer time on the lowest drug really worked for her because she was able to manage her side effects and still have some weight loss of 4-5 lbs per month. The monthly amount was low, but she had a solid 24 lbs of total weight loss after six months. MC has continued this process of staying on her current dose until she no longer loses any weight. She works monthly with her coach and every three months with her nutritionist. The focus is on muscle and fat and learning the types of foods that will keep her full and satisfied with nutrition and protein. Fiber has been critical. The need for fiber is vital because constipation is a very real side effect of these drugs. MC works diligently to stay ahead of the constipation by taking specific medications every day. No matter what, these GLP1/GIP drugs are changing the game for weight loss and other chronic illnesses. Having access to these drugs is important. Why does our insurance company want us to become sicker before we can have access to these drugs? Makes no sense. Our health system needs to change and focus more on preserving our health, especially as we age. Let's advocate for better insurance covering treatments that focus on wellness, not illness. Be well, my friends. We have this one precious life; let's live it intentionally. 🌿💚 📌 Disclaimer: The views shared here are solely for education and entertainment. Tirzepatide Revolutionary Weight Loss Medication Explained By Dr Tara Scott Forum Health

💊 Glucagon-like peptide-1 analogs, also known as GLP-1 agonists, are a class of incretin mimetics used primarily in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. They mimic the effects of endogenous GLP-1 hormone, which enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, slows gastric emptying, and promotes satiety. ➡️ GLP-1 RAs require functioning β-cells and are not effective in type 1 diabetes. ➡️ GLP-1 RAs reduce appetite and slow gastric emptying, leading to significant weight reduction. ➡️ Acute pancreatitis is a serious adverse effect and is a contraindication to continued use. ➡️ Start low, go slow: Titrate dose slowly to minimize GI side effects. ➡️ Avoid coadministration with DPP-4 inhibitors (no added benefit). ➡️ Useful in obese diabetic patients—dual benefit in glycemic control and weight loss. ➡️ Monitor for signs of pancreatitis (abdominal pain, vomiting). ➡️ Counsel patients: Inject on the same day each week for weekly agents. #glp1medications #glp1weightloss #pharmcologylectures #clinicalpharmacology #antidiabeticdrugs Chapters: 0:00 - GLP1 agonists pharmacology 0:24 - GLP1 agonists clinical pharmacology 0:32 - GLP1 agonists and weight loss 0:52 - GLP1 agonists and cardiovascular benefits 1:10 - GLP1 agonists and GI side effects 1:35 - GLP1 agonists and pancreatitis risk 1:55 - GLP1 agonists and renal function 2:18 - GLP1 agonists clinical pharmacology summary diabetes, glp1 analogs, antidiabetic medications, antidiabetic rugs, antidiabetic drugs pharmacology, antidiabetic drugs osmosis, antidiabetic drugs ninja nerd, clinical pharmacology lectures diabetes, clinical pharmacology diabetes, diabetic drugs pharmacology, diabetic drugs pharmacology nursing, diabetes drugs pharmacology, clinical pharmacology lectures, clinical pearls diabetes, pharmacology lecture nursing, pharmacology made easy, glp 1 agonist pharmacology, glp 1 agonist clinical pharmacology, glp 1 agonist clinical pearls, clinical pharmacology made ridiculously simple, clinical pharmacology made simple 🎯 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲: YouTube👉🏼: https://www.youtube.com/channel/pharmacybyasim Instagram👉🏼: https://www.instagram.com/pharmacybyasim/ Twitter👉🏼: https://twitter.com/pharmed0929 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61559544157566 Buy me a coffee👉🏼: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/pharmacybyasim 🎯 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: WhatsApp: https://chat.whatsapp.com/LYSaMZBsutA3viFAZc3cU4 Telegram: https://t.me/+kjJ4_Cg4CMc5MDY0 ☑️ 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙀𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙤𝙣: [email protected] 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿: "Content is For Informational & Education Purpose Only, Creamed From Various Authentic Books of Pharmacy & Medicine.
